There was an element of “creep out” when I created my Twitter account only
to find that somehow, 2 other Twitter members were…like…waiting for me? I’m not sure what it’s called, but these 2 icons belonging to other members were there, and instantly became followers when I registered. I’m assuming they are linked in somehow through my email account, as I have exchanged emails with both of them in the past. And THAT fact makes it even more creepy! We are connected by little neurotransmitters via the the net.
In spite of the initial “creep out,” I was also extremely flattered to have some friends waiting for me! It’s like going to a huge gala and immediatly bumping into people you know when you walk through the door. It was fun to browse through their activities and I’m really looking forward to making more friends! (or followers, people to follow? what’s the proper jargon?)
So now, being the little overachiever I am, I need to email a few dear friends and then do some work around the house. I’ll be sure to tweet about both!
Don’t worry, I’m not the “anal” sort of overachiever. I have had 3 people call me an overachiever since the beginning of 2009, so I’m letting it stick! I spent a couple of years being the antithesis of an overachiever, so perhaps now I’m making up for lost time? That is a story is for another day and another entry!
By the way, if anyone can help me get the little bird to that left column, let me know! And, did I use “antithesis” correctly? My dear friend and employer used to say it all the time, so I’m attempting to use it in his honor.
